Dance-based fire dance approaches the object manipulation fire arts from a dance-based perspective. Unlike fire spinning or fire juggling, in which the body remains static, in dance-based fire dance, the body is as implicated as the object.
Dance-based fire dance involves movement of the entire body and is often rhythmic & set to music. Creating dynamic and interesting performances is a typical (although not required) goal. Special focus may be given to stage presence, atmosphere, choreography, musicality, energetic flow and evolution throughout a piece.
